Earlier this week I was contacted regarding a charity speed-dating event taking place tonight in Toronto. Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts, I am not able to make it out. This realization was nothing short of devastating, and when I tell you more about this particular event, you will know my pain!
Tonight, the fine people at 25Dates.com are hosting their RED, HOT & BLUE event!
This sold out event gives the lucky ladies in attendance the chance to hobnob and converse with the finest single firefighters and policemen the city of Toronto has to offer. But, as I mentioned; this is a charity event! So, not only do you have the opportunity to meet and mingle with these smoking hot local heroes; all proceeds go to The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto, one of the world’s foremost paediatric health-care institutions. Also, on a personal note, SickKids treated one of my very best friends as a child, so I always give special props to anyone who supports this hospital.
Basically, anyway you look at; it’s WIN-WIN!
Especially, considering 25Dates.com has raised $10,000 for Sunnybrook Hospital and Toronto’s Ross Tilley Burn Centre through their past speed-dating charity events.
25Dates.com founder and President Ragna Stamm’ler-Adamson says, “We’re always looking to give back to charities that would be complimented by one of our events.” “We think it’s a perfect match and we can’t wait to host this event.”
Now, for those of you who have never had the pleasure of speed-dating, here’s how it works: each couple is given three minutes to ignite the flames of romance. A bell will sound, signalling when it is time to move on to the next table. At the end of each date, you write a big ol’ Yes or No on the scorecard to indicate if you want to see the other participant again. These cards are collected at the end of the night, with results and matches being emailed out two days later. It then becomes the responsibility of the matches to arrange their own dates.
25dates.com is Canada’s leading speed-dating company, with 75-80% of its participants finding matches. Stamm’ler even met her husband at one of her own speed-dating events over six years ago.
At this point, you’re probably asking ‘Zoe!? Why would you tell me about this fabulous event on the day it is taking place and after it’s completely sold out?!’. Well, I will tell you why… because I’ve been informed that 25Dates.com will be hosting another RED, HOT & BLUE event for Valentine’s Day!! So, even though none of us can benefit from tonight’s event, there is always February!
Be sure to keep an eye on the 25Dates.com website for more details and all their speed-dating events between now and then.
